This American tennis player, along with her sister Venus, has been breaking records since they started on the circuit since she turned pro in 1995. It is usually her or her sister that is vying for the #1 spot in the tournaments and with the physique that she has, it is no wonder she is, as of February 2, 2009, been ranked World No. 1 for the fourth time in her career by the Women’s Tennis Association. Standing at 5′9, 150lbs (68kgs), she is a formidable opponent on the court, be it clay or grass. She is also known on court for her fashion sense, usually turning up in very colorful outfits and shunning the usual all white ensembles that old school tennis players wear. It then naturally follows that she creates her own fashion line, Aneres, her named spelled backwards, and her younger sister (and sometime competitor) Venus will step in and do some modeling for her. Apart from this, she has a lucrative contract with several sports apparel brands such as Puma and Nike, with the latter signing a contract with her reportedly costing $40M. Not bad for playing tennis for a living!
