Lionel Richie and Akon Collaborate

The Commodore icon and the A Konvict team up for the song “Just Go” which is the carrier single for Akon’s new album of the same name. Lionel Richie said that the song is all about getting away and they are merely “narrators” to a story about a guy finding this girl and he knows this girl very well with him planning to take her away from all the problems and issues in their lives.

The video is starred in by Evan Ross, whose mother was the partner of Lionel Richie in the mega hit “Endless Love”. Lionel Richie considers Akon family that’s why he was more than pleased to collaborate with star as a songwriter and a singer. Akon for his part says that he modelled his song-writing career after the famed R&B icon. Akon further beams that him “working with him in the flesh is a feeling you can’t describe since he has never changed and that’s what made him so big the fact that he always found ways to stay with the times, doing exactly what he does, so it’s just a matter of updating the sound”.
