Ludacris Gives Away 20 Cars

Good guy Ludacris gave away twenty cars to some twenty lucky broke people in Atlanta recently.
Apparently Ludacris felt really bad about hearing people’s struggles with the economy in his home town of Atlanta. So he put together a contest and asked people to write about their struggles and send their stories in to him. He says he read thousands of them. We say it’s probably less. But regardless he winded up choosing twenty people who touched his big ‘ol heart and he partnered up with a local Atlanta dealership and bought twenty cars.
The only concern we have is: who pays the taxes? Yes, taxes Ludacris. You know, when you get a car as a gift, the recipient has to pay a few thousand bucks in taxes. Remember Oprah and her two hundred car give away tax fiasco? The recipients felt so cheated because they had to cough up thousands of bucks in taxes that Oprah finally stepped in and paid.
So although this was a nice gesture on Ludacris’ part, we hope this doesn’t turn into a public relations mess for him.
