Nicollette Sheridan Bids Housewives Farewell

Nicollette Sheridan, who plays feisty cougar Edie Britt, on the hit show Desperate Housewives, bid the cast farewell as she made her final appearance as a regular cast member on Sunday.

It is reported that Sheridan was often on the outs with the shows creator, Mark Cherry. Sheridan made no secret of the rift between her and Cherry. She often stated that she felt Edie wasn’t given good material and that her character wasn’t being allowed to grow.

This may not be the last that we see of Sheridan’s character. Although Edie was killed off and Sheridan isn’t signed on as a series regular, Cherry didn’t rule out the possibility of “Edie” showing up in flashbacks.

This really sucks for Sheridan! I think Edie was an essential part of the show. She was a great antagonist. I’m sure Cherry must be looking for another actress to fill her shoes…after all you’ve got to have at least one bitch on the show!
