Phil Collins Retires From Drumming
September 17, 2009 by Richie Berges
Some sad news from Phil Collins. The poor guy’s been having back problems as a result of his drumming and now feels he can’t continue anymore because it’s too painful. Collins released the following statement. “I’ve got a condition that means I can’t play anymore. After playing drums for 50 years, I’ve had to stop. Obviously I’m very sad about it. My vertebra has been crushing my spinal cord because of the position I drum in. It comes from years of playing. I can’t even hold the sticks properly without it being painful.”
But he does continue by saying that although he has to give up his drum set, he can still belt out a song like no other bald dude.
We wish you the best Mr. Collins.
