Rihanna is a name that has been in the headlines quite a bit lately and most of the news has nothing to do with music. But do you know some basic history behind Rihanna?

Rihanna was born Robyn Rihanna Fenty, before she became known only by the infamous mononym held by a class only to some of the brightest lasting stars. Maybe she will be lucky to last as long as some of the best of the best mononym stars, Madonna, Cher, Britney, and Liberace.

Rihanna was born in St. Michael, Barbados, east of the Caribbean Sea. Rihanna’s birth date is February 20, 1988. She just recently turned 21, only 12 days after allegedly being attacked and beaten by her off again on again beau Chris Brown. Rihanna recently celebrated her belated birthday, in West Hollywood at Coco de Ville. She enjoyed shots and a cupcake birthday tower on a private patio. Rihanna did attend her bash solo.

Rihanna’s zodiac sign is Pisces, a sun sign. Pisces are known to be imaginative and sensitive, but also are compassionate and kind. Pisces are also selfless while being intuitive and sympathetic. All too recently we have seen Rihanna’s caring side surface circling Chris Brown, where here Pisces is definitely showing. Hopefully her good Pisces traits will overcome the darker side of the Rihanna Pisces. The negative traits include being an escapist and idealistic (Sean Combs getaway house a couple of weeks ago with Chris Brown). Pisces can also secretive and vague and also weak-willed and easily led (push a little harder Oprah).
