Sickle Cell Anemia A Factor In A.J. Jewell’s Death?
October 30, 2009 by Richie Berges
This is really sad, but the coroners are saying that A.J. Jewell, best known for being Kandi Burrus, ex-fiancée on “Real Housewives of Atlanta” had sickle cell anemia and it may played a factor in his recent death during a fight at an Atlanta strip club.
Sickle cell anemia inhibits oxygen flow to tissues and Dr. Kelly Rose, Fulton County Associate Medical Examiner, explains that since Jewell was agitated from the fight, his condition caused his oxygen replenishment function to not work properly . And this, according to Dr. Rose could have fatal consequences.
Now that this information is out, we wonder what this means for the strip club bodyguard being accused of causing his death? We hope it all turns out for the best.
