He first taste of stardom was her appearance on the Howard Stern show with then guest Donald Trump. After this, she was invited to model for the British edition of GQ and its cover for the January 2000 issue. Melania Knauss was also a fixture in the modelling scene in Europe but she did not gain that level in the United States. When she began dating the real estate mogul, she became part of the New York social scene and their relationship grew deeper as the paparazzi coverage became more and more intense. They got engaged in 2004 and married in January 2005 with extensive media coverage of the wedding itself and the supposed $200,000 price tag on her wedding dress.
